Server upgrade (part 2)
So… the last server upgrade went rather badly – it’s proven very unreliable. I’m now running on a 3.0GHz P4 HT with 2GB RAM which I hope will work rather better. Sorry for the problems.

I used to run another site and these were popular. I know they are not related to yaqin but I still get requests for them so here they are:
This thread will probably also be useful to you:
A good multi-lingual friend of mine showed me that pronouncing Yaqin is easy. The only bit you need to remember is that a q in pinyin (the romanisation system for mandarin) is pronounced like a ch with the tongue flat, as in cheese as opposed to bent tongue as in Charlie.
Thanks, Andy.
I’ve upgraded the server that this site runs from. It is now a P4 2.8 HT – it used to be an Athlon 2600XP. I’ve also tripled the RAM to 1.5GB. I’d love more bandwidth but I can’t afford it – sorry.

The previous schematic was a little tough to read. This one is much clearer thanks to Trevor Lowe.
A big thanks to one of the site’s readers, Steve Kulak, for donating these two schematics:
I thought I’d make a Yaqin facebook group to see if it turned out to be a better place for discussion etc. Facebook allows uploading of images and a more casual interface than my website. Please join up and see how it works out. Ultimately it will only be any good if people use it.

Dear visitors, after a downtime of about five months, I’m glad to say the site is now back up. This was an unavoidable result of difficult personal circumstances. All I can say now is welcome back.

I was given a schematic for this so have added it.
